2007 TFM

The 2007 Zodiackiller.com Task-Force Meeting will be held in San Francisco on Saturday, March 3 at the 4 Star theater. The event will run from noon to 3 PM. After the event, there will be a banquet room at a nearby Chinese restaurant reserved for attendees who still wish to participate.

One of the highlights of the event will be the debut of John Mikulenka's documentary film Hunting The Zodiac. VIEW TRAILER

I've already had the pleasure of seeing it and it's excellent.

Attendees will also have the pleasure of meeting Nancy Slover, the former Vallejo Police Dept. switchboard operator who talked to the Zodiac back in July 1969.

David Van Nuys (emeritus professor of psychology, Sonoma State University) will be attending. Of course, he contributed insight into Zodiac's writings in Mike Kelleher's book This Is The Zodiac Speaking.

Also, Mike Butterfield will discuss his forthcoming Zodiac book. Mike's also agreed to a Q&A session, and perhaps I can talk John into one, as well. So we'll definitely have the podium thing going on for at least an hour. I'm also working on getting a couple more Zodiac authors to show up.

Howard Davis, author of The Zodiac/Manson Connection, will be joining us as well.

As more people confirm their attendance, I'll work out a schedule for those who will be speaking. Now is probably a good time to start searching for podiums on Ebay...

There are 150 seats available, and another 49 reserved for special guests. If you'd like to attend, PayPal a website donation using the link near the bottom of the main page.

I'll be adding more information to this thread as we go along, including the latest on some big names I hope will attend. So make sure to keep reading this thread for the latest updates.

(Note: Less than 75 tickets remain as of Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2007.)

Here's a map of the area.

Clement Street is very close to the Golden Gate bridge and easily accessible from downtown via the #38 (Geary) bus. Also, there are tons of restaurants nearby. Parking isn't a problem either, as there is a pay-to-park lot located next to the theater.

The 4 Star opened in 1912 under a different name. Here's a link to learn more. Perhaps the Zodiac saw movies there.

The Zodiac's San Francisco crime scene is only about a five-minute drive from the theater.

Might I reccommend the Golden Gate Club on the Presidio as a stop for coffee or refreshment! You can do a drive by of Washington and Cherry on the way in or out.

Wish I could come, but Tom is too strapped to cover my meals, lodging(The Fairmont), and travel exspenses. Maybe next year!

Tom, any chance of getting an audio of the whole meeting, for those who can't make it, and for our archives? Sounds like a monumental event.

I've got a feeling there will be more than one TV station covering it.

So no one should be very surprised to see cameras. Especially since it's right after 'Opening Night' of the major "Zodiac" 'blockbuster'. And right in the middle of S.F., where much of the movie is based.

A few days ago I invited (via e-mail) a pretty good number of individuals to attend, free of charge. Mostly the list included longtime site users, people who have contibuted materials, previous donations, etc.

If you feel you should be on the list, please let me know. I get the feeling I might have sent some of the invites to old e-mail addresses...

Tom,
Wish I could get up there. Sounds like it'll be great! I'll be keeping an eye out for any news concerning it down here though and hoping you are able to have an audio/video of it for those of us who can't attend (and even those who can for the memories). Some $ assistance is on the way.

Clement has the trolley bus line running along it, as I recall. A very clackity-clack street, and hard to miss. I plan on attending, Vallejo_Dave, if that entices you. Can't you take the BART over/under/through the murky Bay, then catch the trolley westbound?

J eric is right.

I've never ridden it, but there is a Muni line that runs along Clement, the 2 line.

It originates from Market Street and runs west along Sutter, then up along California, then onto Clement.

Trust me, from downtown it'd be faster to take the #38 (Geary), especially the limited. And it's only a short walk of a couple blocks.

Hey Tom; how about a short "Awards" ceremony for the

"Most Far-Out Zodiac Theory"?

The winner to receive 1 official 'Arthur Leigh Allen' Zodiac thong.

Maybe we could all vote on it on this board, before the March 3rd event?

Right, Sandy. I just thought voting for the #1 Wackiest might make for good, comedic entertainment at the March 3rd gathering. You know, maybe present the 'top 5', then pick the top one.

At the Lake Berryessa Task Force meeting a few years back we had a similar contest. The winner, I think it was Scott B., was also awarded with the infamous Arthur Leigh Allen thong & it was hilarious. There are still some precioius photos of it with Scott (I believe) with it.

That was a great time, and yes Scott B. won the Art Allen thong lol. When we all get together it is a wonderful time each time. This one just might top them all.

Let us not forget the fact that I didn't come upon that thong by winning a "kook contest," but that it was earned legitimately by being able to annihilate 12 FL.OZ. of Arthur Allen's 'favorite' beer faster than Tom or Doobie could.

That's right, Scott! I had forgotten what the actual 'contest' was. Acutally I thought it was a 40-ouncer of Coors- as that was what Allen supposedly drank like a fish, and filled his car up with the 'empties'.

In any case, I think another contest with a new theme would be fun & memorable at the March 3rd meeting.
