So, what's with Gyllenhaal in that first still? Were they just in a fight and he got punched in the stomach, or did he have some bad Taco Bell???

Hey, he's got Averly smoking a cigarette. Very un-PC. Makes me want to go right out and take up the habit!

Here's the movie version of SFPD detectives Toschi and Armstrong.

Here's another scene with Yellow Book and Paul Avery.

In reality, Book and Avery did not even have their first conversation until after Avery had left the Chronicle years after the Zodiac case had faded from the headlines. And it was only one conversation. In show business I believe that's called creative license.

Oh well, nobody ever claimed this film was going to be a documentary.

The term is poetic license.

I think there will be multiple "licenses" used in this movie. My instincts tell me it will be so "yellow" that our only hope will be the Zodiac comes out of hiding to do in Graysmith, or at the very least make him eat crow (or salt beef).

Ha, having met the real Graysmith, I thought for a moment that "Avery" and "Graysmith" were switched. Frankly, this ratty version of Downey far more closely resembles Yellow Book in the flesh than the almost effeminately clean-cut Gyllenhaal.

Looks to be a top-notch production. I've no doubt this will be an excellent and entertaining movie, and I'll be there to watch it. It unfortunately appears to have a good helping of pure fiction, however...

It looks like they are editing to make it more realistic----I love that! They are trying to make it a better movie for us. Jake deserves a hand clap already.

Where did you hear that they were re-editing it for accuracy? I know it was bumped back three months, but I'd not seen anything in the press explaining it. I'm sure they are recutting it, but I assumed it was for thrills more than precision.

I think any re-editing at this point would be done to trim the length of the film down. Early reports had it clocked at over 3 hours, and the running time probably didn't sit well with test audiences. Being that a trailer has already been released, test audience feedback would be common grounds for such a late re-edit...but that's just my guess.

Also, the rumor that the film was pushed back from January to March because of a simultaneous release with "Hostel 2" appears to be untrue. "Hostel 2" director Eli Roth barely began editing the film this past Monday...making it an unlikely January release.

The movie stills look great. As for the re-editing in order to make it more accurate. I dont know, we'll have to wait until March to know that or not. It's probably just ofr time, like Wrecknball said.
