Where did Zodiac come up with his "rush to editor" line that he included on several of his envelopes sent to the newspapers? Maybe he made it up. Or...

RUSH

The above ad features a product called Zodiac, which has a cross-circle symbol displayed on it.

The earliest reference to the Zodiac spacetronic watch I've found is 1965.
Interesting that they advertised it in the SF Examiner and Chronicle.
I also found that Zodiac launched a large newspaper and magazine print ad campaign in the USA for the Spacetronic in 1968.

By the way, reporter Paul Avery believed the Zodiac killer used the watch as inspiration for his name and symbol, and Avery was bent on convincing law enforcement as well.

Zodiac watches were pretty popular. I'm amazed that people reject the watch theory simply because of Arthur Leigh Allen. Folks, believe it or not, other people besides Allen owned Zodiac watches!

Even if you don't think Allen was the Zodiac, don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. Your suspect might have owned one, or at least seen one.

Sheesh.

Tom, if memory serves me well, I think many of the old black & white movies centered around newspapers like Citizen Kane used the commands Stop the Press & Rush to Editor. I haven't seen any in a long time but maybe some of the 45+ group can verify this.

I'm sure the "Rush" feature wasn't exclusive to the watch ad. Still, with that ad, you have three things the Zodiac killer was known for, all in one spot.

Tom, yes, all three in one spot makes a good point.
