I was thinking back on all the kooks that have been part of this site over the years and thought it might be fun to list some of them. Actually, I don't think they'll fit into ten spots.

I'll start:

#1 - The realitor lady who thought Zodiac killed Jon Benet

Where does one start??? LOL

1) The wannabe lawyer who claimed he knew Z and that Chinese boys witnessed the Stine murder.

2) Dennis Kaufman aka Kenny Kilgore. Need I say more???

3) Michael D Brown, the guy who thought Z was black because he found a partially burned satchel under a bridge with codes and a pic of some black guy in it. He also thought Z used a bebbole machine at work.

4) Gareth Penn (yes, I am fairly certain he posted way back in either 1999 or 2000, but the posts have long since vanished)... it was a pathetic rebuttal to my arguments against his theory, and it was 3-4 posts long, as I recall.

5) Carl, who in all the years he's been peddling his Hunter theory has never once produced a shred of evidence to back his claims up, even when I proved Hunter didn't live at 3799 Washington Street when Stine was murdered.

6) Baba Bijan, who believes that L Ron Hubbard was the grand poobah of the Zodiac Killer assassins, and that Robert DeGrimston of the Process, who was also one of the Zodiacs, was trying to blow up the US with a pen bomb!

There must be others we can think of, but after a while they all kinda run together...

Sorry, Doug. If I don't make the top 10, you don't either.

Ed, save the last four votes. I'm sure you'll find plenty of new candidates over the next few months.

Naah, this guy has everyone beat by a long shot. (Scroll down for the Zodiac stuff.)

He e-mails me often and -- when I point out the factual errors of his Zodiac claims -- he accuses me of being "one of them."

True, Deoxys. But you know, there was a time around nine or ten years ago when people had me pegged. They'll probably be laughing on the other side of their faces when my book comes out.

WoW, I think we may have a winner. Let's put Mengele on the back burner tho, til we have more time to evaluate White Rabbitt and Nate.

Bargle--LOL

How about the woman in chat who says the bus bomb diagram looks like a swimming pool?

How about the Zodiac website that has great design and graffics and has a crime site listed as "Lake Merryesa"? It also lists the known suspects and then draws the conculsion that they were "all too old, too fat and too dumb to be the Zodiac".

Kevin originally suggested "all the kooks that have been part of this site over the years," although it's obvious we need to expand it to include the other kooks, like Uncle Bubba's niece and the Mengele guy... OMG, this case really draws them in, doesn't it??? LOLOL

There was a person in chat who said the Presidio was riddled with secret underground caves that the Zodiac used to escape. I like any theory that involves the Zodiac escaping like Benny Hill pursued by the police around the Presidio to then tune of Yakety Sax!

Let's not forget Debra and Silvie. Then there was Oscar - I never did get the scoop on why that guy disappeared.

I wish this board had a polling feature, we could vote on the all time top kook, heh.

Oh, I remember Silvie. She claimed to be an English instructor or something like that, and yet, I found so many spelling errors (that typos could not account for, nor were they obviously typos), punctuation errors and bad grammar that she must have made it up. I suspect she really flipped burgers at Mickey D's.

Oscar e-mailed me after he was banned all those years ago, claiming he had an account under another name and that he posted from work (thus, different IP number); he claimed his other persona was nothing like Oscar and that he'd continue to post like a normal person. I never figured out if he was being truthful or not and, if he was, I've no idea who he posted as.

What about the Singapore Zodiac who sent Tom the posion letter a few years ago. That one's got to be on there somewhere. I know its not for sure but Dennis Radar I believe posted on Tom's BTK website. He has got to be number 1 because he actually killed people!

From my point of view, the Singapore Slinger was always right at the top of the Kook Tree, what with those bizarre letters and the equally bizarre items that came with them. I have to admit that they really had me until Tom disclosed them to be a hoax. While I would really like to know what has become of this issue as of late, I also understand that any desire of Tom's to keep everything under wraps is entirely justified, as doing so could compromise the integrity of the investigation into the matter - if I remember right, the last update stated that while the culprit had been identified, the search for him was still ongoing.

Call me nuts, but Oscar's off-kilter sense of humor is something that I actually miss. His archived suggestions for a Zodiac-themed spoof never fail to leave me in stitches every time I give them a dekko...

I hope you're kidding, Fred. That kook claims that Mengele was Z and also mailed the anthrax letters??? It's clear from the pics he's posted that the people he claims are Mengele and so on are nothing of the sort. He's clearly as hysterical as Terri Williams (Uncle Bubba's niece) who not only claims to be related to Z, but also claims she ran into the 9-11 hijackers in Canada in 1999, was told about their plot and warned the FBI about them (get a few laughs about this here), and was introduced to the DC snipers in Vancouver in 2002 (more laughs here) and tried to warn the authorities to no avail.

It's unfortunate there's no law against being a kook... if there was, we'd have to build hundreds of new jails...

Wow, since the 'Singapore Slinger' posts his S.F. address & phone numbers here: http://www.angelfire.com/art/yohiel/believebehold. html

Why doesn't Tom or anybody call him to follow up on his wild claims & communications? You never know, he still could be The Zodiac!

If nothing else, I'm sure he would have some outlandish Zodiac-related stories to tell.

If it can be confirmed that this man is, indeed, the one responsible for the hoax Zodiac letters, the authorities should be notified. The chances of slapping him with charges of extortion and sending hazardous substances through the mail would be excellent.

Well, Kevin, sometimes "art" is in the eye of the beholder. Just ask Ulli Lommel, the guy who made "The Zodiac Killer"- the worst reviewed movie or video of ALL TIME. (these are hysterical):

http://www.amazon.com/Zodiac-Killer/dp/B0009KQP1E/ sr=8-1/qid=1170571240/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/103-8404400- 6239842?ie=UTF8&s=dvd

Speaking of which, has he ever posted on this board?

If so, I would have to nominate ULLI.

I tried to watch the Lommel Zodiac movie, but I couldn't make it through. I'm a guy that usually likes B horror flicks, but this movie could make Ed Wood look like David Lean.
