My local news reports that this bizarre 2003 case has been solved and indictments are pending, although no information is being released. http://www.crimelibrary.com/notorious_murders/famo us/erie_collar_bomber/index.html The case involves a pizza delivery man who robbed a bank, apparently at the demand of someone who kidnapped him, strapped a bomb on his chest and forced him to rob the bank. The pizza man was stopped by police but killed when the bomb exploded before he could be questioned. Bizarre case... |

I have always wondered about this case. Here is some info I have found: http://www.thepittsburghchannel.com/news/11031648/ detail.html According to the AP, the FBI has interviewed a woman named Marjorie Diehl-Armstrong, who's in prison for murdering her boyfriend the same month that Wells was killed. The body of that boyfriend was found in the freezer of a man whose home was near where Wells claimed someone locked the bomb around his neck. The man in whose home the body was found has since died. Armstrong was once acquitted in the death of another boyfriend. As site by the family of the victim, with lots of evidence and info: http://brianwells.net/ |

Thanks for those links, Yarb. It will be interesting to see what actually happened here- it's gotta be one of the most bizarre crime cases in history. Hopefully the family will find some peace as well. And hey... there's Zodiac movie advertisement on page 2 of that Crime library link! |
