Did ALA have a left lazy eye?

Zodiackiller.com Message Board: Arthur Leigh Allen: Did ALA have a left lazy eye?

I am sure this has probably been mentioned somewhere along the way, but-- did ALA have a
problem with his left eye?

It is clear (or appears so) from the composite
drawing of Zodiac-that there is something wrong
with his left eye-i.e., looks droopy.

Any thoughts on this?

The composite was an artist's impression based on the three teens' description. Toschi admitted in 1978 that he wasn't sure it was all that accurate in 1969. In any case, after having been to Washington and Cherry and looking at someone standing on the corner 50 feet away at night, you can't see more than the barest of details, ie, you can't see a droopy eye under those conditions. Thus, it was probably in the artist's mind more than anything else.

But didn't the police officer responding to the
murder scene substantiate that part of the drawing. Even in his revised composite-the left
eye still has the same droopy look.

As I understand it, the artist didn't even speak with Foukes nor Zelms (Armstrong and Toschi apparently didn't either, for that matter). All he did was alter the sketch to make Z look older.

I had been under the impression the sketch was
altered because of the cops. Any idea what made
him draw a 2nd sketch?

Because he learned that two cops were eyewitnesses and thought Z was older than what the three teens thought.

Also, I am sure this has been mentioned before,
but on pg 377 of ZU- I think the odd sign- off mark is 32. Did his parents live at 32 Fresno duringthe time Ms. Bates was killed.

Ed, do you mean word got to the sketch artist that
these cops had seen the killer, felt he was older
than the original sketch, so that is why he altered the picture to look older.

Judy: The Allens lived at 32 Fresno since the 1940's. And yes, that is what I understand happened with the composites.
