maybe the yellow taxi could be driven by Paula Stine, Paul Stine's unknown twin lesbian sister[hence the mannish look in the police sketch] who killed him out of jealous rage for receiving less love from mom or something? ok, bad joke

I just returned from Riverside ! What a fun time I had with these three handsome ,extremely intellectual, witty men. I seem to be the first one posting, I am sure they are still sleeping. I couldn't believe they got to go into Cheri Jo Bates's house! We went into the area that was once the old Library, that Cheri Jo had gone one last time before her senseless murder. I have the feeling that if they had this case in 66, the killer would have been caught!! We hope to meet again soon, perhaps some of you would like to show up? I would like to go on and on, about all the fun "we" had down south, but I will give Tom, Ed, and Howard, the space to let all of you Z buff's in on all that we learned!!

By Ryan Olesin (Ryan) ( on Friday, May 10, 2002 - 09:36 am:

Any pictures?

By Howard Davis (Howard) (dsl-gte-10407-2.linkline.com - on Friday, May 10, 2002 - 06:07 pm:

Lots of pictures!Tom,will ,no doubt, post them when he can.He has been most generous in this respect in the past-this site proves it!It was great to do the RS tour with fellow Z researchers and have a great time in the process!

Forget the pictures, how drunk did y'all get?!

Just kidding, of course I'd love to see the pictures. I want to know what Ed's hair is looking like these days!

I was vacationing in Catalina all week, otherwise I would have been glad to have joined in. One of my best girlfriends teaches at RCC, I don't know if she could have helped at all. Sounds like all of you did a great job on your own.
I can't believe you guys missed the beautiful historic Old Spaghetti Factory, it's one of the first buildings in Riverside and incredibly reasonable.
I would have stayed at the Mission Inn, but that's just me.
Good work.

BTW, I got toasted on Sierra Nevada Pale Ale... no Gulden Draak, unfortunately.

Sylvie, anytime you can get away, we can do this again. I have a lot of names to check out for 1966 down in Riverside. I found two with the right names , now I have to make sure they are the same people I have as suspects. That is a long process. The other thing is, "anyone" could have driven it in a short time, even from S.F.. I would feel very lucky if I could place any of the suspects even close to RCC in 66. The only two people I can prove lived real close in 66 ,was Darlene and Jim Phillips. In 66 Jim had a beard and mustache! I wonder if these were the two missing people at the crime scene reconstruction? I know only two prints were found at the scene, but if someone else stood at the sidewalk as a look out,(like Darlene seeing someone killed)Just a thought.Remember the words found at Dee's , Stuck, stabbed, hacked? Was she writing about Cheri Jo ?

By Sylvie (Sylvie14) (spider-ntc-tb021.proxy.aol.com - on Monday, May 13, 2002 - 01:43 pm:

It is true that a blonde woman was around (and never accounted for). A woman nearby also would have made Cheri Jo less suspicious, IMHO.

By Ryan Olesin (Ryan) (d150-160-190.home.cgocable.net - on Monday, May 13, 2002 - 03:08 pm:

The pictures were cool, except the one of Ed and Howard holding hands in front of Press Enterprise.

Good one Ryan.
Tom, it is seriously spooky how much you look like my brother (I came out the beautiful one the in the family).
Did you all notice the Kane street sign crossing the P.E.?
Good pics Tom!

I came home from work and picked up the Press-Enterprise in front of my door, started reading it and lo and behold I see an excellent article on the Riverside Expedition. There is a good pic of Sandy and Howard. Glad to see that Shumway thinks the case can still be solved and that there are people here that have not come forward about what they know.

And I thought you got the personality. Regardless, I don't need to meet your brother to know he drinks lots of beer.

Jake and Tony, Thanks for the complements! I needed that. Jake I feel as if I know you,we have corresponded for a few years now. If you are ever in Calif. look me up. Tony, I will be on your Island in a few months, sounds good. I understand that a unsolved murder happend some years back. Do you know when that was? One of my suspects went there in 88. Was it Z like in anyway?

By Esau (Esau) (12-246-187-137.client.attbi.com - on Monday, May 20, 2002 - 08:11 am:

Sandy and Tony, On July 11, 1991 a Honolulu newspaper had the following headline. "Pulled Off Road and Raped Says Woman In Maui". This newspaper was found in the home of Karla Homolka and Paul Bernardo. They were on their honeymoon on this date. They were never charged with the rape. There were also unsolved rapes in Florida when they went to Disney World on vacation. Do you know anymore details about the unsolved murder such as names or dates?
