After a long serach I have found Michael Mageau, I have my own questions and how I want to handle Mike. I was just wondering if any one has some good questions that I might be making a list so when I do meet with him. Please take this serious and keep it to Mike only.

Pam,

Pam,
In all seriousness I would suggest that you prrovide board members with access to your email account, in the event that Mageau occassionally visits the site. It is probably not the case, but if you have some serious questions for him, you may not want to show your hand.
Will you be reporting on your meeting at some point in time? I, for one, would be very interested in hearing what happens.
Oscar

Oscar,
Thanks for the advice, I surely do appreciate it. My e-mail is easy for anyone to find. When I seen Mike in 1994, he either acted dumb as to a computer or is not saying now. My meeting with him this time will be a whole lot different. But Oscar I will be careful.
Pam

Maybe I had better put my e-mail address: PamHuckaby@aol.com

Pam, I don't know who to recommend but I would think you would want to have a professional give you some interviewing advice and how to approach the questions to get him to open up. This might be the guy that could bust this thing wide open. Maybe you can email Det. Baker and get some professional advice.

Esau, How do I get a hold of Dect. Baker, I would be glad to get all the help I can get. Thank you

Pam

He's on this message board, Pam. Just look around for William Baker. Click on his name for his email address.

What exactly does one expect to get out of Mageau that he hasn't already given over and over the last thirty years?

By Esau (Esau) (proxy2-external.scrmnt1.ca.home.com - 24.4.254.113) on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 04:18 pm:

Jennifer, have your read Graysmith's book and read all of the postings on the message board yet. Mageau has a severe credibility problem. Most people think he knows who shot Darlene and him. Ed Rust and John Lynch refer to him as odd and say that he's hiding something.

By Jake (Jake) (spider-wg051.proxy.aol.com - 205.188.196.41) on Saturday, March 24, 2001 - 06:22 pm:

Esau, most people who have read Graysmith's book think he's hiding something, but most people who have done a little more research think otherwise. There isn't much in the factual record to indicate that he has any special knowledge. You might want to check the "Vallejo" page of my site, linked below.

I realize we've gone over this one before, but I would like to ask Mike Mageau why he was wearing all those layers of clothing.

Any updates so far on Mr. Mageau? Was Pam able to actually question him? Any ideas as to why he's stayed so "low key" all these years? Please keep us informed. Thanks, metalex

Haven't been here in a couple of days.
I realize that Mageau is a bit off. However I have not talked to anyone who thinks Pam is credible in the least. Her story as well as those of her family have changed more than a few times since the murder, whereas Mageau's has remained the same from what I have read. I doubt that he is hiding anything.
Frankly what does it matter if he is lying or not? I mean it would be good to know, but if he is lying or hiding something and he has not revealed it in the past thirty years he would not tell Pam just because she found him and asked.
I don't believe that the answers to the Zodiac case lie with Mageau.

By William Baker (Bill_Baker) (pool0155.cvx38-bradley.dialup.earthlink.net - 216.244.30.155) on Wednesday, March 28, 2001 - 01:20 pm:

Esau suggested last week that Pam contact me for interviewing advice. I appreciate your thinking of me, Esau, but so far, Pam has not contacted me. There are a few (unsolicited) points that I feel should be kept in mind when interviewing Mr. Mageau.

First of all, my sense is that he will be a reluctant subject for the interview, and generally could be expected to be defensive. The fact that he would submit to an interview is promising, but it would take very little pressuring to push him back into his shell and preclude further interviewing. That's not to say that he shouldn't be pressed on areas of his account of the circumstances involved when he exhibits signs of tentativeness or concealment. Mike, given his history, is not likely to freely or voluntarily alter his story appreciably after so many years. A blitz-style confrontation cannot hope to yield any useful information. He is probably far from being a stable, well-adjusted enough subject to withstand accusatory or critical examination, so the approach should, at least initially, be one that is non-threatening and low-key.

One of my concerns is the fact that Mike is only one of two surviving victims of generally acknowledged Z cases, and the only one that had the opportunity to see his attacker's unmasked face. In addition, Pam almost certainly has her own reasons, or agenda, for the interview, as well as her own opinions as to Mike's credibility, which is completely understandable. If the interview succeeds in achieving new information, that's wonderful. But if Pam's intention is to try and change Mike's account so as to bring it more in line with her own beliefs or suspicions, then that would be tantamount to witness tampering.

I would hope that after the interview concludes, Mike is left with a receptiveness for future interviews, whether by Pam or others. I wish Pam well in her endeavor, and am looking forward to hearing of the outcome.
