By Mattb (Mattb) (207.212.244.78) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 04:29 pm:

Hello Z
I'm not much at small talk so I'll get to the point. I started coming here hoping to find some information that would help me figure out who you are. I don't think that is going to happen now. The people here have devoted a lot of time and effort into finding out who youare and I don't think they are much closer to doing that.
I was never blessed with a lot of patience so I thought I'd take a short cut and go to the source. That would be you.
I might not know who you are, but I know what you are. You are a spinless coward that can only feel empowered by sneaking up on defenceless people and shooting them.
I am offering you a chance to prove me wrong. All you have to do is call me (707-553-8603) and we will meet someplace one on one and you can show me just how bad you are.
I really don't think you'll call because deep down inside you are a little guy and it doesn't matter what you do. All you'll ever be is a little coward.
So what do you think punk? Do you have the courage to call me?
Sincerely
MattB

This is an ill-advised course of action, Matt.

By Classic (Classic) (spider-ta073.proxy.aol.com - 152.163.205.78) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 05:17 pm:

Mattb: I can appreciate your feelings but, do you have any idea how many cranks and nutjobs are going to be calling you? For arguments sake, lets say the real Zodiac called. How would you know it was him? Unless you have information that you are darn sure only the police and the killer have and noone else how would you know? Even if one of the living suspects called and said "It's me" how would you know he wasn't jerking your chain?

By Tom Voigt (Tomvoigt) (ac9909a3.ipt.aol.com - 172.153.9.163) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 05:56 pm:

Matt, based on your spelling I question if that phone number is accurate.

By Alanc (Alanc) (spider-wb044.proxy.aol.com - 205.188.192.169) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 06:57 pm:

It's accurate, and it's listed to Matt Bleamel in Vallejo. No address, but that part is fairly easy. I called Matt and advised him that it ain't really a good idea. Tom, I think it might be a cool idea to delete this entire thread.

Just a suggestion.

By Bruce Monson (The_Adversary) (csd132.bvi3.cos.pcisys.net - 207.204.7.132) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 07:09 pm:

Tom, you're hardly one to criticize anyone on "spelling" of all things ... considering your own shortcomings in that department.

By Michael Mc (Michaelmc) (1cust7.tnt1.lancaster.pa.da.uu.net - 63.17.97.7) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 08:58 pm:

Matt, Interesting idea. However....I would question the effectivness of such a ploy. To start with i really dont think that this kind of threat would "encourage" Z to contact you. I dont mean to say that Z could not be provoked but I really dont think this would do it. I also agree that you will very likely attract a number of nuts who may or maynot be dangerous. In any case not knowing your background i am almost positive that you lack the training to handle such a situation.

By Oscar (Oscar) (pool0154.cvx37-bradley.dialup.earthlink.net - 216.244.24.154) on Sunday, February 04, 2001 - 11:23 pm:

Dear Matt,

You do realize that now you will have to deal with EdN, right? As we all know from the Zodies site, EdN is most likely Z, so be forewarned. He will probably move in and raid the fridge every night.

I think this is a gutsy move on your part, but don't expect anything to happen. Zodiac is most likely long dead. Ironically, we are the only ones that keep alive by exhuming this madness.

If you do get killed by Z, I just want you to know that I will toast you with a Genny Cream.
Giggles,
Oscar
p.s. Can I call you sometime? I get lonely.

By Kevinrm (Kevinrm) (cx206582-c.mesa1.az.home.com - 24.21.120.22) on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 12:14 am:

Oscar,

I dunno, but if anyone deserves one of your awards, isn't it MattB!?!?! "Ballsy-est" award at the very least!

By Tom Voigt (Tomvoigt) (ac8a172c.ipt.aol.com - 172.138.23.44) on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 12:38 am:

Oh, please.
How about drunkest?

Matt, if Z does call make sure you hit *69.

By Alanc (Alanc) (spider-tl014.proxy.aol.com - 152.163.207.179) on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 10:15 am:

As Matt's number is blocked against anonymous calls, it's most likely all he'll get with the *69 trick is a pay phone.

By Mike (Mike) (spider-ta075.proxy.aol.com - 152.163.205.8) on Monday, February 05, 2001 - 02:09 pm:

Hi Matt-

Watch out for those one-ring jobs. But if you get enough of them, maybe you could even write a book making sense of them for us...Say, that would be an idea!

Matt, if the person who is bothering Kathleen Johns , Pam Huckaby, and my self is the real z ,he wont say anything if he does call. * 69 wont work either, but please watch your back ! He knows what you looked like when he asked you about Darlene, he can find you now! He can change the way he looks, you wont recognize him until its too late!!

By Ed N. (Edn) (spider-ntc-td074.proxy.aol.com - 198.81.17.184) on Wednesday, February 07, 2001 - 10:47 pm:

Matt, I wouldn't worry about it. Z didn't call the Examiner back in 1969, so I doubt he'll call you.

I was thinking of calling you, but Oscar's on to me! So's everyone else, it seems...

By Juno (Juno) (ip-209-215-165-204.browardlibrary.org - 209.215.165.204) on Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 06:07 am:

Maybe if you post a credit card number, driver's license number and social security number zodiac will call you. I'd say it's worth a shot! I mean, hey...what can you lose?

By Alanc (Alanc) (spider-wk064.proxy.aol.com - 205.188.198.179) on Thursday, February 08, 2001 - 09:09 am:

If you post your Visa or American Express numbers with the expiration dates, it's possible that Zodiac could be traced through his fondness for IHOP.

Matt? Matt? Oh my God! MATT! MATT! Where are..(sob)..you? Go ahead and laugh you callous creeps, but it looks like...sob...Matt is..sob..finished.
Dear God, take care of poor Matt, for alas, he was with us but a short while. I salute you with my upraised can of Genny Cream...let the spirits enter the body.

p.s. Sandy, you need to get out more often. Hey! Why not try bowling?

Sandy,

Not to sound too flip (God forbid!), but it seems as though your dance card is..uh..rather full at the moment. Besides, don't you have enough men in your life? Also, it is hard to look sexy in those ridiculous bowling shoes (LOL).
Yours,
Oscar

I called the number and Clint Eastwood answered. He asked me if I felt lucky, and told me to go ahead, make his day. What's going on here?

I wonder if Matt really did get killed by Zodiac? Does anybody know if he's posted since his proposition to Zodiac?

I would give almost anything to meet the SOB (Zodiac, not Matt) myself. I bet he'd look real good through the scope resting on top of my .300 Win. Mag. chambered rifle. I could show him the disappearing head trick!

Don't know why Matt disapeared from the board.

Scott my guess is that z already knows that one.

By Ed N (Ed_N) (172.148.6.99) on Monday, October 01, 2001 - 07:33 pm:

If Z's still around, he'd be in his late 60's now, and no threat to anyone. If Z was Allen, he's dead, and Matt is off pursuing other interests with Carl...

By Sandy (Sandy) (24.176.152.45) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 09:03 am:

The z if he is not any of the suspects on this board, could be as young as 57, if we go by the first description given after the Stine shooting. Sorry, but even if he is in his late 60's and healthy,he would still be very dangerous. In Japan, the people in there 9o's are still working in the fields.Late 60's is not so old once you get there! I am in my 60's and have more energy than most 25yr olds that I have worked with.Don't underestimate your elders! Ed, do I look harmless to you?

By Sandy (Sandy) (24.176.152.45) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 09:23 am:

Matt B. has told us what he had to say. He didn't like the bashing he took from some of the closed minded people . I found him to be truthful, and is a very good witness of who the man was asking about Darlene almost daily! I met with Matt , showed him pictures of all the suspects that I had pictures of(without giving him names),he picked out the drawing of the lake B suspect, and the Kane arrest picture.

By Sylvie (Sylvie14) (198.81.17.177) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 10:19 am:

Ed,
I agree with Sandy. Remember Lawrence Singleton who chopped the teens hands off and left her for dead, well as soon as he was paroled (in his late 60's) he promptly moved to FLA and stabbed a hooker to death.
I do agree that if he is alive he must be at least somewhat geriatric, but harmless?
Do any of us really think that TedK or Bruce Davis, both around that age, would not still be highly dangerous if they were released tomorrow?

By EviI (Evii) (205.188.199.171) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 07:57 pm:

Hello,
I agree completely w the belief that if Z is still out there, he's far from harmless. A gun will make d**n near anyone a threat, as will the willingness to take a life (Let's face it, not everyone is emotionally capable of murder). And I bet a geriatric Z would use his harmless appearance to get close to potential victims.

By Scott Bullock (Scott_Bullock) (205.188.200.200) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 09:08 pm:

I'll take Ed's side here. Sure, if he were still alive, which I highly doubt, he might not be "harmless," but he'd only pose a threat to the people who leave themselves open to victimization. Unfortunately, there are way too many people who fall into this category. Fortunately, I'm not one of them. I'm always accompanied by one or more of my closest friends . . . Smith & Wesson, Ruger, Colt, Taurus, Freedom Arms . . .

By EviI (Evii) (205.188.199.52) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 11:01 pm:

Hello,
Seems to me that a lot of people would be open to victimization if they were dealing with what appeared to be a harmless old man.
I doubt strongly that Z is still alive. But if he is, he'll be a danger to the community till the day he dies (Or is incarcerated, crippled, etc.), as far as I'm concerned.

By Sylvie (Sylvie14) (198.81.16.38) on Thursday, October 04, 2001 - 11:25 pm:

Scott,
That would be good if it were to be a LB situation, but someone like Paul Stine never had a chance I think, no matter how well armed he was (or was not). Many people as they age just get meaner (grumpy old men). My opinion is that if Z is still alive he is incarcerated, thus heard from never again.

By Scott Bullock (Scott_Bullock) (spider-mtc-tf044.proxy.aol.com - 64.12.103.39) on Friday, October 05, 2001 - 04:02 pm:

Yeah, I get your point. However, in my opinion, being a cab driver is leaving oneself open to victimization. Probably the only "profession" that is more dangerous, as far as victimization goes, is prostitution. Considering that I'm neither, I don't worry about being targeted by a serial killer. Besides, how many serial killers do you think would take their chances with someone who is 6'10" and 290lbs, armed or not?

By EviI (Evii) (spider-wl081.proxy.aol.com - 205.188.199.56) on Saturday, October 06, 2001 - 10:58 am:

Hey Scott,
Sounds like we're on the same page. No, you're not likely to be a victim of a violent crime any time in the near future, not based on what you're telling me, but the fact remains that a guy who likes killing people will be a threat to the community as a whole, for as long as he's able to point a gun & squeeze the trigger.

Scott, are you really 6'10" and 290 lbs? If so, your name fits you to a "T"!

Very true. That's why people need to be more vigilant and aware of their surroundings. Too many people walk around with the "it won't happen to me" attitude. Expect and be prepared for the impossible, that way you'll know how to deal with it if, God forbid, it does happen.

Doug: Yep, that's really my measurements.

Dear Group:

You see what I miss when i go away for awhile? I can not talk though since i was always attempting to get a nice interview with one of the suspects listed at this site. I never recieved a response.

I wonder if you Mr. Voit, ever filmed the gathering on the Fourth of July, and if you found any persons of interest milling about at the edges, or some fellow who claimed he had inside information regarding Z? Such an activity planned in the 1970's surely would have been too much for the ego of this fellow to pass by.

I agree with Sandy regarding their troubled chap, it seems that even if he is not Z, he might want to be bad enough to cause you concern Scott. Perhaps you and I both had ought to be careful as to personal information. If Z were the only sadist out there we might be safe, but alas...he certainly is not.

Not trying to stir up s*$t here, but it's a good thing you aren't walking around in Maryland. I kind of doubt the guy who is shooting at long distances would care how big you are. Actually, your size would make you an easier target. Yikes!
