Zodiackiller.com Message Board: General Zodiac Discussion: Warning: "Kenny Kilgore" is ripping people off

"Kenny Kilgore", AKA Dennis Kaufman, is currently ripping off everyone he can dupe into "trading" Zodiac documents with...including me.

Whatever you do, don't trust the guy; he's not just a liar but a crackpot. Want proof? Check out the bizarre series of e-mail below, all from "Kenny".

Tom.
You still holding those pictures close like I said?
Do you enjoy making fools of the people that post on
your website? If you are the 'authority' that you
claim to be, then you must have certainly heard that
my step-fathers DNA was a match against the Zodiac. I
can't wait until I am on T.V., so I can "rub your nose
in your boo-boo".

P.S. I got some 'original' pictures of the Zodiac that
I want $5,000.00 each. I only have three that I will sell.

Tom,
you know what? you're right. The price is now
$25,000.00 a piece for them. And for $50,000.00 I'll
give you a piece of Stein's shirt. Don't bother
replying unless you are truly interested in purchasing
any of these items.

Mr expert, just wanted you to know that you are
considered a nuisance by all the law enforcement
agencies that I have currently been in contact with.
You would be the last person that would have access
to confidential information about the zodiac case, or
any other case for that matter! The only dealings you
may have with any law enforcement agencies in the
future, is by getting arrested for obstruction of
justice! It is punks like you who keep murderers from
getting caught! You and your stupid f****** website
will be gone VERY SOON! Since you know so little about
the zodiac, I will tell you why. Allens DNA has not
been tested to see if it matched the zodiac, because
there are certain things, you obviously do not know,
that make it impossible for Allen to be the zodiac!
Allen never has, nor will he ever be tested, to see if
he is zodiac. That has already been established
you f****** lame!!!!! Why dont you take your
wonderful detective skills and figure out who
shot Kennedy! HA!HA!HA!HA! Get a f****** life you
stupid little sissy fagot!!!!!
SHEMHAMFORASH HAIL SATAN!!!!!

Tom,
My Name is Dennis, I think you know who I am.
Recently I talked to a law enforcement officer who
thought that you where creditable. He is the first
person that has felt this way that, i've talked to
since I have been working with the FBI. I will be
willing to work with you to some degree. I am
currently in Olympia, WA right now visiting my sister.
Even though your attitude has been poor in the past, I
respect the fact that you have put alot of hours in
gathering information, and YES my step Father is the
ZODIAC KILLER. If you are interested in talking to me
email me back and I will give you a phone number that
you can call me at.

Tom, You know how to get a hold of some key
witnesses, and I know who the Zodiac is, and I have
video tape of him that I guarantee Kathleen Johns
would positively identify. I wish your attitude was
different so I could work with you. I was the man on
KOVR news, and my stepfather is the reason all this is
happening, thats why they had me on their show. But
they could not say that, because my stepfather has to
many relatives around Sacramento. This thing would be
over by now, but do to all the law enforcement
agencies involved, each agency wanted to be the one
who handled the forensics. They are finally working
together. I am still willing to set aside our differences so
this mystery of Zodiac, can be put to rest.

I was not joking at all about about Satan. I am a high
ranking member of the Church of Satan, and proud of
it. You are obviously one of those people who tell
little children that it is better when you die! I have
also published a book called, "CHRISTIANITY, THE
DEADIIEST DISEASE OF ALL". Satan really bothers you I
see, so you must be careful and avoid law enforcement,
for they all openly display the symbol of Satan on
their chest! Satan is everywhere Tom, keep a look out
for demons, they come in many forms, and they are my
cherished brothers, and that is not a joke. Keep a
watch out for very strange shapes, and you will see
things you never could have imagined. Good luck Tom,
and it has been a pleasure talking to you.

Looks like "Kenny Kilgore" has more than a few screws loose. He obviously doesn't realize that the one expert who would know anything about Z's DNA being tested, who was at the same Taskforce meeting he was, has said that there is no DNA from Z. So much for his stepfather's DNA matching Z's.

By Scott Bullock (Scott_Bullock) (coral.tci.com - 198.178.8.81) on Saturday, August 17, 2002 - 12:51 am:

Ed, I was about to point out the same fact that you did. Like you and Tom, I also spent a considerable amount of time talking with the lady who is the DNA expert for the CA DOJ. There isn't any DNA in the Zodiac case; period, end of story.

Nevertheless, it's people like Kenny Kilgore that give Satan a bad name.

By Tom Voigt (Tom_Voigt) (12-224-139-118.client.attbi.com - 12.224.139.118) on Saturday, August 17, 2002 - 12:59 am:

Kenny and I made the following deal a few days after the task-force meeting:
I would allow him to post again at the message board (he was banned last year), plus send him the Paul Stine police report. In exchange, he would send me copies of a report he possessed. Upon our agreement I immediately sent him a new user name and password for the board, while he assured me I could expect the report in the mail within a week.

Five weeks went by without word from "Kenny", despite my repeated attempts at contacting him. Finally, a few nights ago he e-mailed me to let me know that he was "considering" faxing me copies of the report he had promised to send me weeks earlier.

As far as I'm concerned, Dennis Kaufman is not only every bit as weird as he claims his father to be, but he's a liar who can't be trusted.

By John Prisk (Prisk29) (dsc04.lbv-ca-1-174.rasserver.net - 199.182.115.174) on Saturday, August 17, 2002 - 03:04 am:

I wonder if "Kenny" knows he can be charged with obstruction (or something along those lines) if he were truly in posession of some of the items he claimed he was in his e-mails to Tom. Those are the kind of smoking guns that can make a case and if he had 'em and did not come forward the assumption would be collusion.
On top of that, if he is pestering law enforcement and had nothing to back up his claims he can be nailed with something along the lines of interfering with a police investigation. Walkin' a thin line Kenny.

Zounds! Tom: I would love to have read your half of the exchange. Has anyone actually bought in to Dennis's menace? I hope Anon is following this. For all I tink he's full of it on proof against Allen, I think he could offer some insight on what Kenny Kilgore might be letting himself in for. Anon?

"Has anyone actually bought in to Dennis's menace?"

Believe it or not there are people who have bought into it, Peter; even here on this message board. Actually, I'm kind of taken aback by the whole affair having just learned that Kenny is a Satanist. Perhaps that explains the extremely gorgeous woman he was with on the 4th?

Anyway, the story Kenny weaves, though intriguing to a degree, is about as believable [IMHO] as the construct of Satan and is also as enigmatic. It all depends on what you choose to believe. Personally, I don't believe in Satan. But then, what the devil do I know?

Scott, I'm not following. Might you explain.
Does that mean that a)he put a hex on her?
b)pretty women are attracted to the dark side?
Tom, be careful. I know you are a brave kind of a dude, but this guy sounds seriously disturbed.

By Kevin (Kevinrm) (ip68-98-108-6.ph.ph.cox.net - 68.98.108.6) on Sunday, August 18, 2002 - 03:19 am:

Well folks, I don't mind saying in the least, I did listen to what Dennis had to say for awhile. I'm also willing to listen to any other theories that may come up here. That's mainly because it is my conviction that the Z case is not "sewn up" in regards to Allen by any stretch, and if it is ever to be solved someone had better start looking around at other people. Gosh, the more I read of ZU and listen to Anon and Peter argue, the more convinced I become Z is not Allen. I'm willing to listen to anything new at this stage. "Listening" and "believing it" are two different things, mind you, but hey, at least I am open to hearing what the guy had to say.

That being the case, Dennis exchanged a few items with me a few months back that I was not too impressed with, then tried to manipulate me into posting here on this board with promises of more interesting items. This, I would not do, and so we stopped all communication for a few months. I was also aware of the whacky letters he wrote Tom, so I dismissed it.

Next, out of the blue, he went ahead and sent me some stuff which was rather interesting. So, the basic agreement we reached was this: I would take an honest look at it, and if I thought he was really on to something, I would say so, be it on the this board or not. I figured, "whacky or not, he could be on to something, who knows?" Some of this stuff WAS very intriguing, not only to me but also to some law enforcement agencies. The fact is, he has submitted evidence and has receipts to prove it. Please don't make the mistake of assuming that I am/was "buying into it". Just because I'm willing to look at it doesn't meant I had ever came to the absolute conclusion that his step-dad was Z. Dennis sent me quite a few things the did seem to fit. His dad was around at the time, was ex-navy, knew electronics, was stationed in Japan and probably was expose to the Mikado, etc. Like, I can see why he believes this. Later, however, I found one item that absolutely did not fit... that being how step-dad "Jack" wrote his small letter "a". They are completely different. In no case could I find where "Jack" or Z wrote this letter the same way. Until that point, all I could say was "possibly". Like I have ruled out Allen on his lack of hair, I also ruled this guy out on the simple fact that the handwriting was wrong. He was supposed to have sent me an example of "Jack's" handwriting where he wrote the small "a" like Z, but I never got that, so I can only assume it doesn't exist.

That being the case, I would really love to hear more about Marshall's background, "Walker", and the host of other suspects out there. Unfortunately, many here think this is all but a solved case, so it's unlikely we'll ever hear much about any of that.

Tom, is this the same guy who was with "Michelle"
at the Task force meeting on the 4th?
So let me get this straight, his whole angle to the case is "my step dad was Zodiac, and I can sell or trade ya info to prove it...so Hail Satan!!"???
Wow!

Considering most people's concept of Satan, one would think KK would be excited that his stepdad was a mass murderer. I had to wonder then, why did he want to "close" the case? Did it have anything to do with $50,000 for a piece of Stine's shirt??? Nahhhhh...

(Since Z gave away at least three pieces of Stine's shirt for free, one would think that the step "son of Z" would do the same. And the least he could have done was bother to read Zodiac to familiarize himself with the basic facts of the case. He might have learned that it's not spelled "Stein").

By J Eric (J_Eric) (dsl081-238-156.lax1.dsl.speakeasy.net - 64.81.238.156) on Friday, August 23, 2002 - 01:05 pm:

KK showed me a court document on 7/4 by way of "proving" his stepdad Z was at Lk Tahoe at some date. Not being shown the case name (just a judge's signature) I was unconvinced. I reminded him that if J. T. WAS Z, he'd likely not be too happy with KK telling all the world. "Beautiful girl" then turned off cassette recorder secretly taping conversation. Believe John Prisk correct, only legal charge could be conspiracy since KK told me his Z is still murdering people now and then--including the X-Mrs. Z.

By Kevin (Kevinrm) (ip68-98-108-6.ph.ph.cox.net - 68.98.108.6) on Monday, October 14, 2002 - 09:14 pm:

Yeah, I got it too. I thought he could be onto something there for awhile. Some of the handwriting looked good, but I went over it with a fine tooth comb one day and found one problem. His suspect's lower case letter "a" never matched that of Z, or vice versa. You know, while you can have 20 things that look good, all it takes is one "problem" to bring down the whole house of cards. This isn't a case where you weigh the evidence, it ALL has to fit. At least that's my take on it.

By John Prisk (Prisk29) (dsc03-lbv-ca-2-172.rasserver.net - 199.182.131.172) on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 02:41 am:

I had a chance to peruse the site. I have no real opinion on him or his suspect, but his web site is weak. It is hugely lacking in real substance; all the junk on there is underwelming to say the least. A picture of a guy with playing cards? Who does not own a deck of cards? There seem to be more "hooks" here than in pro wrestling. Cant say I'm disapointed though. Guess that says something about the subject matter.

By Kevin (Kevinrm) (ip68-98-108-6.ph.ph.cox.net - 68.98.108.6) on Tuesday, October 15, 2002 - 09:04 am:

If you look at document #21 on his web site, the June 26th 1970 Mt. Diable letter, he claims that there is an example where Z writes his lower case "a" just like his step-father in the word "anilating". In fact, if you get a clear copy of the actual Zodiac letter (very clear in Graysmith's Zodiac Unmasked), it is easy to see they are completely different. Zodiac wrote it as usual, and it's nothing like his step-fathers handwriting.

It is appearant, after seeing the images of the contract he signed with the lawyer, that he sees this as his chance to make some money. Good luck.

Yeah, I received an e-mail from Kenny. I assumed Kenny was a virus since I don't know any Kennys and hit my delete button as per usual.

Regarding beautiful women and satan, even good lookers can be underdeveloped elsewheres, and I don't mean the chest.

If it should turn out his father is z, then there will be a couple of other charges against z. The first charge to come to mind is creating a public nuisance commonly called, "Kenny."
