Zodiackiller.com Message Board: Other Possible Zodiac Victims: Zodiac FBI Call to Sacramento Office "I just killed . . . " 1/2/1970

Has anyone made a serious effort to discover a possible Z murder victim or victims on 1/2/70 (or late on 1/1/70) in the Sacramento area? A male called the FBI's Sacramento office switchboard and said: "This is Zodiac. I just killed [inaudible]." The operator who took the call (it occurred at 1:59 PM on 1/2/70) said that after the word "killed", the caller's "voice began to soften until it faded away entirely. Then he hung up."

Was anyone killed on federal land that day? Seeing that Z called the police in the areas where he killed after at least two of his crimes, could the call to the FBI in Sacramento (if it is genuine) be an attempt to point their attention toward a local victim within federal jurisdiction?

I realize that the call differs from the others in that there are no specific details of location given (as in the previous two calls) and (apparently) no successful trace of the location of the call (although the dispatcher believes it came from Sacramento because it came in on the local switchboard).

I've seen those documents as well. I always assumed that it was eventually passed off as a hoax. However, in all actuality, it was wrong for me to assume anything, especially with regard to this case. So far, I haven't found any other reference to it in the FBI files. I'll keep looking as I know you are. More than likely, Tom posted something about it some time back . . .lol

To cover my backside, I did two keyword searches for +Sacramento and +FBI and didn't find the issue anywhere . . .

I'm certain that it's been posted on at some point, although I know that the message board was reformatted last year, so it would have been before this incarnation.

I still haven't found any other reference to the Sacramento call. I'm pretty sure that Graysmith never made reference to it either. Very interesting.

Kane did live in Sacramento for a short while around that time , but I will check it out to get a correct date.

Spencer gives the FBI report about a caller(1/2/70) that identifies himself as the Zodiac saying he has killed someone and is most probably calling from Sacramento or its environs.The voice on the line trails off at the end of the statement. This was similar to the LB call where the caller says he killed someone and then his voice diminishes at the end of his statement.

I have a copy of an anonymous (Fromme!)letter that a family member wrote to the FBI in Sacramento regarding Manson.There was some attempt at humor in the letter.Lynette Fromme while living in Sacramento with Sandra Good would later attempt to kill president Ford(at Mansons order).

Certain of the Family were staying at Sacramento during this period(1970) and in 68/69.A poster on this Board related to me that Manson had a sort of hideout or crash pad in Sacramento and he has been to the apartment.I know Manson had friends in Sacramento and its suburbs.Some of them-including Manson were staying with a friend of his named Paul in the outskirts of the city in December of 1968.

Concerning this Manson connection on all of these affairs, is there a really complete timeline available anywhere of Manson's comings and goings? With whom's, etc.

Just curious, if BD was indeed Z, how many Manson members do you think would have known about it? I was thinking it must have been a very small group for it to have been kept a secret this long. Susan Atkins, for example had a really big mouth, so I think she would have squealed a long time ago.
So what do you think -- Manson, Good, Fromme, the code expert? I know Good and Fromme have remained faithful, unlike the other "gals" (Manson must have been one heck of a lover), so that could make sense. Any thoughts?

Sylvie, You sound like a Mansonite, or should I say a Davisite. After all you did coin the phrase an Allenite. It sounds neat. Like in the JFK investigation-an OSWALDITE. We're turning into a nation of paranoidites.

I have already answered that question on another section post.I have contacted Susan Atkins and she says she knows nothing about Zodiac, etc.But, she was present when Manson shot two boys and a girl as was Davis, Sandra Good,Tex Watson and some others and none of them -including Atkins -will discuss that event.

She did state that Manson believed that anyone they killed would be 'his servants in the afterlife'(I quoted her in a past post) and that he taught them that "others" would be "waiting for them" in their "paradise"!Parole Board Hearings are important to them!

I say the following knew about Zodiac with only one admitting it to me.Sandra Good, Lynette Fromme,L.M.,John Phillip Haught(AKA Zero)believed to have been shot by Davis in the head,Joel Dean Pugh(believed murdered by Davis and staged to look like a suicide) and possibly Catherine Share as she would not discuss the Zodiac,etc.;she acted very nervous about it.Some have said that 'they all feared Davis.'One of the original members told us that she was scared to death of Davis because of his demeanor,etc. and that he was Second in Command as she said."Bruce was always threatening to blow someone up ."
Also,Share would not discuss Shorty Shea and she was involved in his murder by helping to cover up his death and body.She said "there is no statute of limitations on murder" so lets move on.Davis it was discovered took Sheas boots, guns and locker.

The one witness that did talk was told by Good and Fromme that if he ever "told Bruce was Zodiac ... he... would be killed "like the others.It was only after many years did he realize they didn't have the power as they did in the 60's and he opened up.

Manson has said that the murders that he is in prison for were not the ones he was really involved in, but another of terrible murders',but he won't say which ones.

There is the fact Manson and a few of his followers were in the Sacramento area December 1968.Watson said that for the first time Manson seemed 'detached and was quite distant as if he were deep in thought.'As late as 1976-8 Tex was still wondering what Manson had on his mind during the two or so weeks they were in the aforementioned area.

After the 20th he and his associates moved back to So. CA area and Davis flew to England.

Looking back, I believe, he was taking the decision to start his War in Northern CA just as the Beatles song It's Only a NORTHERN Song and their lyrics speak of a "brown haired man" (I believe M 'saw' this as his Second in Command Davis)going up north and of a "military man"(Z's Navy appearance) and the words "around midnight"(strike time-"Run[Jensen herded out to run] for Your Life Little Girl" and "Do it In the Road"also in the Occult called the "witching hour"-)gave Manson the "messages" he sought in reading these songs-this is well known by researchers.i.e. looking for messages or "instructions" on how to conduct his Revolution.No Z call or letter as he was 'experimenting' according to my info.


The Beatles Christmas album was launched 12/20/68!And the WHITE album came out and this really"fired Manson up" to "start" a Black /White race War.Please read Graysmiths book on page one (the middle section) to see why he chose Vallejo or that area.I also believe that old Plymouth Valiant (Family had one)that stopped around 9:30 PM and backed up -which Gray' calls "unusual"-when that white couple was besides the road(pgs.3-4 Zodiac)and began chasing them until the couple out distanced or evaded them ,were some members looking to kill a white couple.The one in that White Chevy(Davis owned one)did!

After this it is unnecessary to have Manson on site as I believe Davis took over as it were-this was his "assignment" as M would say.Davis is available at every hit.It is of interest that when Z struck 10/11/69 (on Aliester Crowleys B Day-their idol,on Beatles album cover;Davis surrendered on his death date)Manson left the desert area with an ex con Bill Vance around the 10th and came back at around 6:00 PM on the 12th, and of interest is the fact, that Davis pulls up at the same time having been in Vegas!They were arrested at around 6:30 PM!-same time as the newspaper call by someone claiming to be Zodiac.

Davis was released 10/27/69(Halloween card sent on 27th of Oct.70).ED Sanders is mystified why M left his group when things required his presence.Sanders wrote a MS on Zodiac and Manson-you heard it first here!Also,Peter Folger(Folger coffee heir)whose sister was killed by the Family hired two top detectives to investigate a link between M and Zodiac.Actually,they came across the connection.I got my tip from a pristine source some time later-'74.It's a long story, but it's the first time I decided to bring it out.More on this in the future.

Davis' whereabouts is unknown during the times of the Z attacks.I do know he was in Berkeley December '68.One example.Davis is with the Family up until Sept. 26th and disappears only to reappear on the 28th according to former members.

Dear Mr. Davis:

It is my hope, that if you indeed have a letter written by Ms. Atkins in which she has disclosed a homicide done in her witness by C. Manson, that you forwarded such information to the correct authorities in as much that homicides are with out statute limitations and it is in the best public interest to make such information available to law enforcement...

Howard were these the two teen's that Manson shot near the ranch? Davis saw it also if I remember,or Davis was the one who buried them?
